Asha Sharma takes the time to get to know her clients. Understanding her clients is key to winning their cases. She treats her clients with respect and compassion and fights hard to win their cases.
Asha’s 20 years of experience as a lawyer help her to be an effective advocate for her clients. She has practiced Social Security Disability law for the past seven years. She has handled hundreds of Social Security Disability hearings.
Asha has had a wide range of experience in the law. For ten years, she worked for the Minnesota Department of Human Services in disability health, children’s mental health, and other areas. She was an Adjunct Professor at the William Mitchell School of Law from 2004 to 2006. Her volunteer activities include volunteer mediation at Ramsey County and work with Minnesota Attorneys for Human Rights where she helped international refugees seeking asylum status.
Asha graduated with honors from the University of Minnesota Law School, where she was an editor at the prestigious Minnesota Law Review. Upon graduation, she clerked for the Minnesota 3rd District Court (Rochester, MN) and later at the Minnesota Court of Appeals for Judge Edward Parker. She has completed training in mediation services.
Asha is a lifelong Midwesterner: she was born and raised in Wisconsin and has lived in Minnesota for more than 20 years. She enjoys time with her family, especially spoiling her nieces and nephews.
Caryn Ye is an attorney who is passionately committed to promoting and safeguarding the rights of her clients. She provides quality and skillful representation tailored to each client’s unique situation. She listens and gets to know her clients and works tirelessly on their behalf.
Caryn has been a lawyer since 1994. She is experienced in several areas of law, including social security disability, personal injury, family law, employment law, business contracts, immigration, and alternative dispute resolution. Early in her career she worked for the Minnesota Department of Human Services in the areas of administrative appeals, contracts, data privacy and legislation. Caryn’s volunteer activities have included serving as a court appointed guardian ad litem for minor children and providing pro bono services to non-profit organizations.
Caryn is a graduate of Carleton College in Northfield, MN and the Hamline University School of Law in St Paul, MN. She is admitted to practice in both Minnesota State and Federal District Courts.
An attorney and client advocate, Paul McGrath has worked in the area of Social Security Disability law since 2011, helping to file applications and appeals and also to represent clients at hearing. Paul currently focuses primarily on representing clients at hearings.
Paul graduated with honors from Albany Law School in New York, where he was a student intern in the Civil Rights and Disability Clinic, providing legal services for people with disabilities in institutionalized settings. He earned an outstanding clinical student award for his work through the clinic. Paul previously worked as a law clerk assisting with Social Security Disability cases and also worked as a volunteer attorney at the Minnesota Disability Law Center.
In his spare time, Paul enjoys coaching high school ice hockey teams.
A client advocate, Tony R. has extensive experience advocating for clients at the Application and Reconsideration stages of the Social Security Disability process.
Tony earned his Paralegal B.A. from Winona State University in Winona, MN, where he dedicated a year to volunteering for the Winona Public Defenders Office. He also completed a paralegal internship at a community criminal defense law office in St. Paul, MN, where he helped low-income and indigent people find adequate legal representation. Tony also works with criminal offenders as a correctional supervisor, helping offenders maintain sobriety, obtain employment, and has also helped individuals obtain affordable and quality medical care. He is fluent in Spanish.
In his free time, Tony helps undocumented individuals find solutions to their immigration issues and roots for his favorite football team, the Green Bay, Wisconsin Packers.
A client advocate, Mohamed S. helps clients file their applications and appeals.
Mohamed is fluent in Somali and helps our Somali-speaking clients at all stages of the disability process. Mohamed earned an Associates Degree in Electronics from Hennepin Technical College and an Associates Degree in Liberal Arts from St. Paul Community and Technical College and is now pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Human Services. Every year, Mohamed volunteers as a tax preparer helping individuals file their property income taxes.
In his spare time, Mohamed enjoys spending time with family and friends, playing soccer and basketball and working out at the gym.
Owen H. | Client Advocate & Medical Records Specialist
A client advocate and medical records specialist, Owen helps clients file and appeal for Social Security Disability benefits and also obtains medical records, assists clients with completing function and work reports, and uploads content to the Disability Partners website.
Owen previously spent seven years working for arts organizations in New York City and Minneapolis. Owen is a graduate of Bennington College in Bennington, Vermont, and is fluent in French.
In his free time, Owen enjoys creating music that he’s performed across the United States.
