We’re Working at Full Capacity with Staff at Home
Dear Clients and Colleagues:
In the midst of the recent COVID-19 outbreak, we hope that you are all remaining safe and healthy and are staying at home. The next few weeks and months will be challenging, but you are not alone — we are all in this together.
If you have any symptoms such as shortness of breath, cough, or fever, please contact your doctor’s office or a local hospital immediately.
We wish to assure you that attorneys Asha Sharma and Paul McGrath and our staff all continue to be working at full capacity on Social Security Disability applications, appeals, and hearings.
Although we believe we are an “essential service,” as defined in Gov. Walz’s “Stay-At-Home” Order*, health and safety are our main priorities, and therefore, our office space remains closed to the public and our clients.
Paul and Asha continue to come into the office, although we will sometimes be working from home.
All staff have been working from home. Staff will only be in the office physically twice per week to process mail.
We continue to take on new clients who need help with Social Security Disability, long-term disability, and other types of benefit issues.
Our staff are filing applications and appeals with Social Security.
Paul and Asha are still representing clients at hearings. Most scheduled hearings are continuing to take place but only by phone. We will contact you to see if the phone hearing is acceptable or whether you prefer to wait for an in-person hearing. Please be aware that there will likely be further delays in the scheduling of in-person hearings.
All of us continue to be reachable by phone, fax, and email. But please understand that, occasionally, you may experience delays with responses to your communications because of connectivity issues and the challenges of working remotely from home. We appreciate your patience and understanding during this challenging time.
From all of us at Disability Partners, stay safe and healthy.
*Under Governor Walz’s order, certain legal services are deemed “essential,” including “advice and representation needed to aid the delivery of all critical government services.” Essential legal services also include: “Advice and representation required to ensure the immediate and critical health, safety, and liberties of Minnesotans, including but not limited to, end-of-life planning, immigration, essential services to elders and persons with disabilities…”
